The group explores a variety of Brazilian music styles – from choro and samba to Northeastern baião and galope – embed in jazz style improvisations and contemporary arrangements.
Repertoire include original compositions by Fernando Brandão and his own arrangements of music by A.C. Jobim, Mauricio Carrilho, Chico Buarque, Lenine, Jacob do Bandolim, Hermeto Pascoal, Eduardo Neves and Rodrigo Lessa, and Arnaldo Antunes.
“A fresh take on the best in contemporary vocal and instrumental Brazilian jazz” I have had the pleasure to perform with many great musicians in the US and Brazil. The band formation varies from time to time, from duos to octets.
